SCHEDULE

◊ THURSDAYS
DYNAMIC YOGA 6:30PM – 7:30PM
VINYASA + YOGA NIDRA 7:45PM – 9.15PM

Working across disciplines, through the lens of psychology and psychotherapy, Fotini works with people to examine life using modern and traditional movement techniques. Interested in everyone practising individually but in community, she fosters an environment where a group is forming/bonding naturally.  She offers challenging yet accessible teachings, in search of a richer range of possibilities in our movement and thus our life.

Fotini’s traditional teachings are informed by her personal practice which is deeply rooted in Astanga, Yin, Pranayama and Kriya practices and ongoing research and teachings of Fighting Monkey Practice (Linda Kapetanea/Jozef Frucek), Flying Low and Passing Through technique (David Zambrano), and research by psychologist Dr Mihály Csíkszentmihályi and psychiatrist Dr Bessel Van Der Kolk M.D.  Parallel to teaching, she has complemented and developed her skills as a teacher by completing academic research through The University of Cambridge (Masters Education Psychology (First)) and a Foundations Degree in Dance Movement Psychotherapy with Goldsmiths College, University of London.

Vinyasa Flow & Yoga  Nidra   with Fotini

In this class we focus on developing deep awareness of the natural momentum of the breath with a similar sequence every week to draw participants into a flowing meditation of body and mind and finishing off with pranayama and guided relaxation (Yoga Nidra).  Vinyasa is a technique that synchronises breath with movement, flowing through a sequence of postures, which will differ teacher to teacher. Introduces traditional asanas with modern balancing variations and sun salution variations. Yoga Nidra is a floor-based guided relaxation practice, which facilitates a state of conscious sleep.

This class has a traditional focus where we use the breath to move through the physical practice from a modern bio-anatomical approach.
