The Well Garden is a Wellbeing Centre located in the the midst of Hackney Downs Studios, a vibrant and friendly community of creative businesses.

We are looking for a energetic and creative individual who is passionate about wellbeing and yoga to work closely alongside our Studio Manager in running the yoga studio and treatment clinic. This role is a collaborative position with an emphasis on articulating a clear vision for the studio, development and marketing. However you will also share certain management tasks to ensure smooth day to day running of the studio with the Studio Manager.

This is a rewarding role for a creatively-minded Yoga Teacher Training graduate with a keen interest in wellbeing, who is excited at the prospect of helping to build a growing wellness business. You will work directly with The Well Garden teachers and practitioners, and will be expected to establish a working knowledge of all the different classes and therapies we offer.

The position is part-time, and structured on a freelance basis which offers a great deal of flexibility. The role would suit someone who lives locally who is, on occasion, able to be flexible with their working schedule to suit the needs of the studio as a small business.

  • Maintaining high standards of teaching and therapies
  • Trial and hire prospective teachers and therapists
  • Responsible for the teachers cover schedule
  • Create partnerships with like-minded organisations and businesses
  • Curating the studio timetable in order to articulate a clear studio identity that positions us competitively in the market
  • Create sales and marketing plans for studio offerings
  • New business
  • Build revenue and generate sales
  • Update Website
  • Create and schedule content for website, blog, social media platforms
  • Create monthly newsletter
  • Manage any external design work and website design
  • Organise & Manage a programme of Workshops & Events 
  • Supports accountant with invoicing relating to teachers, workshops and events

Supports, alongside studio manager

  • Management & training of Reception Team
  • Premises Maintenance & studio appearance
  • Updating MBO Booking System
  • Client Queries
  • Retail – product sourcing and stock management

Essential Knowledge, Skills and personal specification

  • Passionate about wellbeing and yoga
  • Drive, vision and creativity
  • Marketing Experience
  • Some knowledge of Adobe Suite – Photoshop/ Indesign/ Illustrator
  • Some experience in Photography/ Editing skills
  • Familiarity with WordPress
  • Ability to multi task and learn quickly
  • Leadership and people management experience
  • Initiative
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Trained yoga teacher, or experienced student
  • Lives locally
  • Flexibility with working hours

Desirable Knowledge, skills and Experience

  • MindBodyOnline booking system
  • Experience working in natural health/ yoga studio

Studio Manager
Maternity Cover

This is a rewarding role for an individual who thrives on working on their own initiative, who has solid administrative experience of managing people and developing and ensuring the smooth-running of systems. The successful candidate will also have a passion and personal or professional knowledge of the well being industry, particularly in the field of complementary therapies. You will work directly with The Well Garden practitioners and teachers, and will be expected to establish a working knowledge of all the different classes and therapies we offer. You will also collaborate with the Studio Owner and Studio Marketing and Development Manager, on developing sales goals and initiatives for the team.

The position is part-time, and structured on a three-day week spread over four of five days. The role would suit someone who lives locally who is, on occasion, able to be flexible with their working schedule to suit the needs of the studio as a small business.

Overview of Role Studio Management

  • Premises Management and Maintenance
  • Reception Team Management
  • Ensuring smooth running of all reception and studio processes
  • Engaging new practitioners & looking after existing practitioners
  • Resolving client complaints
  • Teacher covers
  • Supporting accountant in preparation of teacher payroll, therapist invoices and monthly accounts.
  • Supports Promotional activities and events Yoga teacher management and schedule

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Personal Specification

  • Proven people management skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Experience of working with email, producing documents, simple spreadsheets and using electronic systems to collaborate with others
  • Ability to manage time and juggle competing tasks effectively
  • Genuine interest in complementary therapies, sound meditation and yoga Creative, and able to think laterally
  • Lives Locally in East London Open-minded with a sense of humour
  • Leadership and people management experience
  • Ability to multi-task and learn quickly
  • Ability to handle and resolve conflicts in a professional, tactful manner
  • Ability to operate a personal computer. Manage your time & work-load effectively using calendar, emails. Smart Phone. Team Player.
